The Old Bridge Marching Knights are a school band and a competition band. They begin practicing for their fall competition season in June, even before school is out for the summer.  In June, they practice one night a week for four hours, increasing in July to two nights a week each for four hours and then mandatory two weeks of camp in August. During a typical season band members will dedicate over 600 hours of time in rehearsals and performances. They start off the school year in September playing every Friday night supporting the Old Bridge High School football team, home and away. The competition season also starts in September and ends with the National competition in November. Every Saturday they perform at competitions throughout New Jersey; this means their day typically starts at 8am, with most competitions ending late in the evening. In addition, the band performs several parades and community/school events throughout the year. 

While maintaining this busy schedule, band members continue to perform well academically, most in honors and advance placement courses.

Indoor Percussion is a highly competitive activity that includes drums, keyboards, and other percussion instruments. Members perform a theatrical show in a gym through movement and music and compete on a regular basis. Auditions/rehearsals begin in November and the competitive season ends with World Championships in late April. Rehearsals are held Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 5-9 p.m., Saturdays 9-5 or later on competition days. Percussion is a very demanding club and requires dedication & training. OBHS Indoor Percussion are 7-time MAPS Gold Medalists, WGI Silver Medalists (2022,2018) & 2013 Bronze (PSO/PSA), as well as a 2023 WGI Scholastic World Class Finalist.
